What we've accomplished in 2024!
As 2024 comes to a close, we're excited to share this year's remarkable progress in advancing research, raising awareness, and improving the lives of patients with autoimmune diseases. Together, we’ve made significant strides in expanding our advocacy network, growing our community, and leveraging data to drive impactful research.
Here are some highlights from 2024:
Growing Our Community: We welcomed over 1,000 new registrants, bringing our enrollment to over 4,700. With a 2025 goal of reaching 7,000 registrants, we continue to expand the diversity and scope of our data to reflect the experiences of those living with autoimmune diseases.
Innovating for Patients: Our new website launched in October 2024, featuring advanced search filters and disease profiles enhanced with data from the NIH’s All of Us Research Program. Visitors can now explore over 100 diseases by category, prevalence, and symptoms while accessing new insights into demographics, comorbidities, medications, and more.
Strengthening Partnerships: We hosted monthly webinars connecting our Patient Advocacy Network members. Our webinars continue to educate and connect advocacy groups, building a stronger, united community.
Research Impact: This year, the Journal of Clinical Investigation accepted our research paper on autoimmune disease prevalence, estimating that at least 15 million Americans (4.6% of the population) have been diagnosed with one or more autoimmune diseases. This research is expected to be published in the next year.
Building Resources: Our research fund has reached $6,800, bringing us closer to the $20,000 target needed to launch grant opportunities for investigator-led studies.
