Autoimmune Registry Works with All of Us to Generate New Website Graphics

Working with data from the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH’s) All of Us Program, the Autoimmune Registry aims to transform how patients with autoimmune diseases understand and manage their health, providing them with critical insights that could lead to more personalized care and improved health outcomes.

All of Us is a national initiative led by the NIH, aimed at gathering comprehensive health data from one million diverse participants across the United States. By collecting a wide range of data, including genetics, lifestyle, environmental factors, and health outcomes, the program strives to create a more complete picture of health and disease. The program also aims to make health research more inclusive by focusing on diversity—ensuring that historically underrepresented groups have a voice in the research process.

Participants’ data, which is anonymized to protect privacy, is made available to researchers and advocates working to better understand complex health conditions.

The Autoimmune Registry is using the vast resources of the All of Us program to gain deeper insights into autoimmune diseases. Our new website includes profile pages for 150 suspected and confirmed autoimmune diseases, using data and graphics to highlight the experiences of patients.

These insights include:

  • Top Comorbidities: Identifying common health conditions that often occur alongside autoimmune diseases.

  • Top Medications: Identifying top medications currently taken by patients with autoimmune diseases.

  • Patient Health: Highlighting patients’ self-reported general health and quality of life metrics.

  • Socioeconomic Factors: Recognizing socioeconomic factors that impact patients’ choices regarding care.

The Autoimmune Registry’s work with the All of Us resource is just the beginning of a larger movement to improve autoimmune disease research and care. Patients with autoimmune conditions can participate in the All of Us Research Program by enrolling and sharing their health data.

To support the Autoimmune Registry, please share our information with others with autoimmune diseases. Donations are also greatly appreciated!
