What has the Autoimmune Registry accomplished in 2023?

As 2023 draws to a close, we want to give everyone a recap of the past year. To raise awareness of autoimmune diseases, we wrote guest blog entries for Global Genes and continued to expand our network by connecting with individual disease advocacy groups. We also have increased our global enrollment to over 4,000, with the majority of registrants located in the U.S.

Among its notable accomplishments, the Autoimmune Registry (ARI) has passed the $50,000 threshold through donations and our program activities. With this, we can continue our mission of establishing autoimmune disease as a major class of disease to provide appropriate funding needed to improve existing treatment protocols.

Below are a few more highlights from this past year:

Compared to the data last year on comorbidity, the number of comorbidities has stayed relatively the same. We hope to receive more data to forecast likely outcomes and comorbid conditions for autoimmune disease patients.

For 2023, the top 10 diseases in our registry with strong levels of evidence for autoimmunity are listed on the right. As of 2022, our most common autoimmune disease continues to be Autoimmune thyroiditis, followed by Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Sjogren's syndrome.

We want to thank everyone again for your contributions and support. At ARI, we believe in leveraging the power of data to solve problems faced by the autoimmune disease community. We will continue our efforts to advance research by connecting patients to relevant research opportunities.

What do you hope to see ARI accomplish in 2024? Share your thoughts by making a video here! You can also share your story anonymously by selecting anonymous mode.

Join our mission of using data to shorten the time to diagnosis, find better treatments, and improve patient's quality of life by joining our registry or sharing it with a friend who has an autoimmune condition. Together, we can better tackle the underlying causes of all autoimmune diseases.
