Learn about CAR-T therapy and clinical trials in our next webinar!

Autoimmune Registry is hosting a webinar on October 7th, 2024, at 4:00 pm EST to discuss new technologies used in autoimmune disease clinical trials. Specifically, we will focus on CAR-T therapy to give patients a better understanding of the technology involved. We wanted to take this time to introduce one of our presenters, Dr. Mazen M. Dimachkie!

Dr. Mazen M. Dimachkie, MD, is a tenured Professor of Neurology and Director of the Neuromuscular Division at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC). As Director of the Neuromuscular Division Research Program (NDRP) at KUMC, Dr. Dimachkie oversees one of North America's largest and most active neuromuscular clinical trials units. His research focuses on conditions such as chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), diabetic neuropathy, myositis, myasthenia gravis, and more.

Dr. Dimachkie has played a key role in several landmark clinical trials, including serving as the International Coordinating Principal Investigator for an FDA-funded trial investigating the efficacy and safety of Arimoclomol in inclusion body myositis (IBM). He has also led a study on subcutaneous immunoglobulin (SCIg) therapy for myasthenia gravis. With over 200 peer-reviewed publications, 28 book chapters, and more than 300 meeting abstracts, Dr. Dimachkie's research is widely cited, and his contributions continue to shape advancements in neuromuscular medicine.
